The Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL) is the leading repository offering a highly specialized and comprehensive collection of full text indexed documents in the fields of humanities and social science publications from and about Central, Eastern and Southeast Europe. Key peer-reviewed academic and independent journals from the region, effortless access and broad coverage gives CEEOL ́s collection its unique value and high quality.
In 2020 CEEOL started with its own publishing activities via CEEOL Press to produce books on and about the region for the educated reading public breaking down the barriers that has so far kept knowledge production and distribution to a select few.
CEEOL Press also offers partnership for academic publishers as well as authors in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe who seek global recognition and distribution for their titles.
As of October 2020, the CEEOL repository covered around 2,350 Humanities journal titles from 34 countries, with 690,000+ articles published in more than 30 languages. The CEEOL coverage is growing monthly by 4,000 newly included journal articles. Significant number of the included journals are represented with complete archival collection. The CEEOL eBook collection development has started in 2016 and offers access to more than 4,500 eBooks, as well current year as backlists of the partnering publishing houses. The CEEOL Grey Literature Collection project includes 5,900 Grey Literature items.
